Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management
People are becoming increasingly aware of the importance and the impact of choosing the right transportation for many businesses. Starting 23 March, a certificate programme in Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management will be attainable through the CRP Henri Tudor in partnership with the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
"Logistics is a relevant course for Luxembourg at this time", says Dr Jos Schaefers, Director of the Laboratory for Industrial Technologies and Materials, CRP Henri Tudor and Adjunct Professor, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. "Logistics tend to be a future business opportunity pushed by the Luxembourg government. In fact, Luxembourg has a true chance to become a central logistics operator if - and only if - Luxembourg is willing to innovate in this domain. The issues in logistics are rather widespread as the following definition might show: Logistics is the synchronisation of all material, information and financial flows in a chain from the earliest supplier to the ultimate consumer. Important operational issues include planning, scheduling, synchronising, minimizing pipeline inventories, constraint exploitation, system subordination etc. All these issues help to make chains competitive, i.e. fast, responsive, flexible and reliable. Logistics is a global concept. Therefore a lot of regulatory and legal issues are as important."
